Next it was on to Germany for the band, who played a gig at a former church (now the Kulturkirche) in Cologne, as an exclusive radio concert that was
broadcast live on German radio station WDR-1Live. Tickets were not for sale, and could only be obtained by taking in part in competitions associated with the
radio show. Damon, to the crowd's delight, introduced some songs in German! [Photo credit: WDR-1Live]

Amazing photos showing the beautiful venue and more from on the WDR homepage here

Barb writes:-
"My second TGTBATQ-gig within six days – and this one was quite different.
The gig took place in an old neo-gothique church, all red brick and lancet arch windows – fantastic atmosphaere.
And I was so close to the band. No space between first row and stage. I could have unlaced Damon’s shoes if I wanted to. Some people were in life-threatening
danger of being hit by Paul’s bass.
Damon looked a bit calm, maybe he had a hangover. It must have been a very interesting night in Paris. Much lesser interaction with the audience – which was
very inactive, too. Nevertheless, all songs are accepted enthusiastically. And then he played Intermission! Just a part of the song but it was received with
cheers. No singing saw, no whistling on Soldier’s Tale, that made the song sound a bit weak.
And then after the title song – the miracle happened.
He laughed.
He really laughed.
Simon Tong laughed!!!
Damon said “fin”, “that’s all” and smashed his melodica on the floor. But no one believed him. We got another encore.
