The tour rolled into the album's spiritual home London, the venue for the night being a community centre more used to hosting Boxing bouts nowadays than
music. The largest venue on the tour was sold out and packed with fans eager to hear the new album played live. [photo credit: 2-J]

"Sorry to add my two eurocents only now but I had flu, anyways it was well worth it york hall was some gig !
I was there with a couple of friends, and ended up in front row slightly on Paul's side (my friends were more at the back though). I am tiny and so didn't
have a 100% perfect vision of Tony or Damon from where I was standing, but it doesn't really matter when the music is so brlliant. I found the arrangements
more mature and flawless, you can tell they have been working on them and a good job they did too.
As for my impressions, I enjoyed the 'event' on the whole, hats off to the young bands who played I was slightly less impressed by some of the acts in the
middle, on another note Mr. Alex James was also in attendance !
The atmosphere of the gig was much more relaxed than the roundhouse, Eslaam is rapidly becoming a rockstar and I haven't seen Damon this happy in a while.
Especially in a couple of passages he visibly showed appreciation to Tony and Mike, which was really nice. As you already know only B-sides were played: it
does make sense but a bit of Intermission wouldn't have hurt...
Briefly met them after the gig right outside the pub, but not even Smoggy could let my friends and me in so once again I complimented damon for the gig and
the arrangements and got an autograph. He was still in good mood from the gig, I suppose, so he was all smiles for us fans. I would have liked to ask why
Simon switched from acustic to electric and why no 'covers' but you know when you only have 1.5 seconds..."

"I have to admit at the outset to being a Damon fan for the last 15 or so years. Predictable I know, but those come-to-bed eyes and cheeky smile have just got
better with age in my humble opinion. Not only is he very pretty, but he is also immensely talented - Blur/Gorillaz/Mali Music and now the genius band that
is The Good The Bad and The Queen.
Having been to see TGTBATQ on Friday night at the brilliant school gym-style York Hall venue in London's Bethnal Green, my love for Damon has just grown
stronger, although it has also widened to encompass Paul Simonon and Tony Allen in with it - certainly in the genius stakes they're right up there with him
(I'm afraid Simon Tong, although very good, didn't quite cut it for me). The showmanship on stage was outstanding - even better than when I saw them at the
BBC Electric Proms in Camden's Roundhouse. The mixed and very friendly crowd were obviously enjoying themselves right from the start with the warm-up music
hall acts and the brilliant bluegrass band. And then TGTBATQ came on, and the atmosphere was electric. This band does live music like no other - all the
tunes sound so much better on stage than they do on the album, and the rhythms from Tony Allen got the crowd dancing, while Paul Simonon was possibly the
coolest bass player ever, and Damon - well you know how I feel about Damon. Personal favourites were 80s Life, Three Changes, The Good The Bad and The Queen
and the encore featuring Eslam Jawaad, Mr Whippy. I also loved the brilliant saw player (Nick Cave lookeylikey) who played during A Soldier's Life rather
than the usual whistling Damon.
A gig that is right up there for me with the best of them. I hope TGTBATQ continues for at least another album.."
